rss feed submission

This follows on from my post last week where I revealed 60 sites to submit your blog or RSS feed (hey we can never have enough promotion right?). While those sites are great to submit your sites URL, todays submission sites are exclusively for RSS feeds and how we can use them to give us a nice stream of traffic.

Many people seem to ignore the benefits that feeds can have and nowadays most people seem to be hell-bent on only using Twitter or Facebook for traffic and link gains. These are excellent of course but we shouldn’t ignore traditional methods too? As that old saying goes – “Never put all of your eggs in one basket!“.

Now for those of you that are even unsure of what a web or news feed is – it is basically a data format that provides users with automatically updated content. The data comes from any website or portal that offers such a service into the users RSS feed reader. Simple!

If you have a WordPress blog like this one, you will already have a feed made for you and it is usually found at this address by default – http://www.yoursite.com/feed/ just as mine is – http://www.social-media-traffic.com/feed/. If you have a static website then chances are you or your webmaster will need to create your own feed and I’m not going to get into that here as I’ll be here all night!

So we have our feed, now let’s make the world aware of it!

  1. Feedmailer – Very easy to use. Sign up, click “Feed Manager”, add you feed, job done!
  2. Yahoo! – I added this on my other post, but just in case you missed it…
  3. FindRSS - There is a bot more to this one. You need to add categories, description, a title and even an image if you want.
  4. Feedmil – Nice and straightforward submission.
  5. RSS001 – Does require a registration, but it’s quick and easy.
  6. RSS Mountain – Sign up, submit!
  7. FeedSee – The easiest and quickest of them all. Just add your feed URL.
  8. MyBlog2U – Needs a register but you can submit till your heart’s content when done!
  9. Feedgy – Very quick and easy feed submission.
